WEBSITE DESIGN

At Jusu Designs we know that it's important for our clients to be clear about the stages involved in building a website to ensure the end result is one of great satisfaction, exactly meeting their needs. So we sit down with them and take them step by step through these design stages.

"We would definitely recommend Jusu Designs, they are extremely professional"

How a website looks is extremely important. A well designed website will grab the audiences' attention immediately and they will want to read more and look at the site in more depth. Our designs are professional, clean and highly effective. Sometimes our clients have strong ideas of their own as to how they want their website to look, which is great, and the graphic designer will meet with them to discuss their ideas and polish them. Other clients have absolutely no pre-conceived ideas of how they want their site to look. They just want something eye catching and classy. So this gives the graphic designer free rein to develop an appropriate design for them. Other clients do not know what they want but have a few websites they like the look of. This is useful and it will help the designer know what their tastes are and can develop a design that will be appealing to them and the audience at large.

Other aspects of website design that are important include:

Logical, consistent and user friendly navigation, because a site that's difficult to use will frustrate the user and they will soon look to other sites for information/services.

Graphics properly optimised for the web so that the pages load quickly and display correctly.

Cross browser compatibility - this means that the code that is used to build sites needs to display the pages correctly in all browsers so that whatever computer and browser the end user is using to access a site, the site will look the same. Examples of browsers are Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Netscape, Chrome, Safari and so on. There are so many options available today, that clients want to know they are reaching all of their potential market.

Re-sizeable text so that users can enlarge the text to read it better.

Good quality meta data should be added to the website pages to allow search engines like Google to better find them and rank them.
Alt tags for non-readable content such as images and video - this allows all users and text only browsers to read the content. This also helps search engines to find relevant images and video content within sites.
All sites should be tested before going live, to check for compatibilty issues, spelling mistakes, broken links, and so on.
